True Food Kitchen – Chicago

We have been fortunate to work on several awesome locations of True Food Kitchen with Aria Group Architects.

At the River North location, we provided bifolding doors from LaCantina as a gateway to the sidewalk patio, allowing the restaurant to spill out into the vibrant street life of the city in nice weather (and bringing those lovely breezes indoors, too).
True Foods opted for an ADA-compliant threshold, which in addition to benefitting customers with mobility restrictions, reduces any potential tripping hazard for patrons who maybe had a few too many delicious seasonal cocktails. ADA-compliant thresholds are recessed into the ground, with a maximum height of 1/2” and a maximum sliding rail gap of 1/2” (too narrow for a cane to wedge into). These modifications are an option on lots of LaCantina products, and don’t cost a single extra penny. Everybody wins!
