Countryside Saloon — Des Plaines, IL

When Countryside Saloon decided to remodel their outdoor patio area and build a new four seasons room off their existing building, they greatly expanded the footprint of their much-loved Des Plaines bar and restaurant.

Sadly, the excitement about the renovation was short-lived. Less than a decade after completion, four improperly-installed, cheaply-made sliding doors made the new addition nearly uninhabitable for customers. Leaks plagued the windows on rainy days, while the lack of insulated glass made the room icy cold in winter and boiling hot when sunny. Worst of all, roller failures on the lower tracks stopped the sliding units from opening at all.

These kinds of construction horror stories give us nightmares… especially when the victim is a hard-working, local small business!

It all ended on a positive note, however, thanks to four, high-quality replacement units from La Cantina Doors — all thermally-broken, filled with argon gas, low-E coated, and subtly tinted bronze to help with glare. These improved multi-slide units were installed with precision by the incredibly talented team at Meyer Guild, allowing ownership and their patrons to finally take full advantage of this airy space.

Next time you find yourself in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, be sure to stop by for a tasty beer and enjoy the new & improved “fireplace room” in any weather!
