In 2025, the Art Institute of Chicago renovated its Michigan Ave lobby to redirect traffic through a single check-in entry rather than 3. Their request for large doors had to comply with the museum’s architecture, design, and installation regulations.
The 11′ x 15′ pivot doors feature a customized steel profile with a custom liquid paint finish. The slim frame and finish blend seamlessly into the existing lobby. The doors match the design of the patinated stair railings outside the lobby.
