1950 Residence — Chicago

Check out this pretty-in-pink Lincoln Park residence we worked on with BGD&C Homes! This classic Spanish-style urban estate is only getting better with age.

Seeking to harmoniously integrate the newer home with its many historic neighbors, the design team approached us in search of a brick with old-world character that would complement its traditional aesthetic.

Salesman Dave immediately turned to options from Watsontown Brick’s “Pennsylvania Molded” series. With organic edges, nuanced color, and a smooth sanded finish, these bricks frequently appear in our brick matching posts thanks to their incredible ability to mimic masonry of yesteryear.

We provided a custom, 50/50 blend of their flashed “Foxcraft” and “Hermitage” shades for the building’s exterior, as well as thin stone veneer (“Bridgewater” and “Sydney”) from Fond du Lac Natural Stone to give the basement wine cellar unique rustic charm. Thoughtful details and artful landscaping were employed throughout the property to create a finished result that has us dreaming of Mediterranean villas.

Neutral colors may be all the rage these days, but you have to admit — this warm-hued home positively glows in sunshine, rain, or snow!
